How to Easily Change a Flat Tire on Your Vehicle

This guide for changing a flat tire should allow you to safely make the change without issue, regardless of where you need to do the repair. Even if the tire is on the rim, you can drive on it a few feet if you need to get off the roadway to a safe and flat spot to make the repair. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lugs only slightly while the vehicle is still on the ground.

Jack the vehicle high enough so the tire clears the road, then loosen the lugs the rest of the way. Gently pull the tire from the car, set it aside, and grab the spare tire. Place the tire on the studs, hand tighten the lugs, lower the car, tighten the lugs in a criss-cross pattern.

Be sure to have the team at Giles Automotive set up your tire rotation appointments for this year to extend the life of the tires.
